That is where my 4.0 leaks.![]()
ThanksI think he means something like this: Irwin bolt extractor
Thanks for the number. It's a real treat to fix. It's just three O rings but the adapter is pretty much blocked by the exhaust, and one of the O rings is very hard to find. If you decide to try it, the Ford part # for the hard to find one is E9TZ-6749-A... the other two are made by Mahle and are pretty easy to come by.
Is this one green in color normally? My local auto parts store can only find the smallest oring of the three.Ford part # for the hard to find one is E9TZ-6749-A
Yep. I think you can look up an oil filter adapter gasket for a SOHC truck and they will be the same, or at least that was where my research stopped. Allegedly the o-ring kit fits both 4.0 variants but I can't personally confirm that.Is this one green in color normally? My local auto parts store can only find the smallest oring of the three.
Nice! What o-rings did you end up using for the two small inner rings?Yeah I got everything back together and it does not leak. Thanks for all the help.![]()
Im a little late to this post, but did the fix work? No leaks yet? ANd when you say you dropped the passenger side exhaust only, did you drop the y pipe and then take the passenger side manifold off?I used the E9TZ-6749-A and the E9TZ-6749-A. It appears to be working well. It it is a little moist at the base, but I think it is the oil I used to lube the biggest oring when I installed it. I did have to find the one oring on ebay( my local auto parts store could not find it). But the job went well after all the parts came. I did not break any exhaust bolts and I only took off the passenger side exhaust.![]()
