4.0 Mass air question

Does anyone know if a mass air from a 5.0 mustang will work with with a 4.0L, I checked the library and other forums and all I found was stuff on 2.9ss and I did know if the intake stuff was the same

Because the mass air on my ranger doesn't have the end to put a cone filter on it. And I put shower drain piece on it that it talks about it the library. And I don't wanna use that setup anymore, I wanted a mass air that would use a cone filter.

IIRC, the bore is actually bigger on a 4.0 than the 5.0 Mustang (55mm). Also, you do realize the cone filter just breathes in hot air from the engine compartment, right?

It's still gotta be better than the stock air box that hardly sucks anything..right, I also got a buddy with a sheet metal shop that gonna build a case around it and i got holes cut in the fender to suck it outside air.

Not really. There is a dyno sheet floating around here somewhere that shows that without the exhaust system, and the port and polish, and the tune that all the K&N "test trucks" get along with the cone filter you actually end up costing yourself some power.
