Pulled spark plugs, dropped driveshaft, even stuck the transmission in neutral.

But I cannot for the absolute life of me get this thing to turn over. Only reason I even need it turned over is the get the torque converter mounted fully to the flex plate. Maybe it’s binding or something? I’m not sure anymore.

Transmission input and output shaft both spun freely in neutral before sticking the engine and transmission back together. Motor turned over freely too. Not sure what the issue is here.

I mean, my only thought is that a little bit of water got down the intake ports when I had the upper intake off for a day?

Any ideas?

My guess, the bolts holding the flex plate to the crank are hitting the back of the block.

My guess... if you had the transmission out... is that you didn't get the torque converter installed properly.

Next question is... did you have to use the engine to transmission bolts to "draw" the engine and transmission together?

When the flexplate broke on my old crown vic I ended up bending the seperator plate when prying the tranny off the motor, didn't realize it until re-install when I was trying to get the nuts on the converter studs.. plate was bent enough to catch the studs and stop all rotation.

Didn’t have to use the bellhousing bolts to draw it together, but I’m not

that’s possible, I’ll have to check.

So... you can turn the torque converter by hand?

No, it’s stuck in its spot.

I'm thinking tthe converter didn't get fully seated then. It should spin pretty easily and move a bit back and forth when engine and trans are bolted up.

Thanks! I’ll figure it out tomorrow.
