4.0 from 97 explorer into 93 ranger 3.0

I have read the post about different swap's but Not able to understand some on the language. if anyone know's would you tell me in simple term's, (I am not a Modder, bogger, or into anything like that)
I am just wanting to do this for my grandson who has blown his engine (3.0) in his 1993 Ranger, he also told me that his auto tranny has started to slip.
I have a wrecked 1997 Explorer that has a 4.0 with Auto Tranny, can i swap this 4.0 and tranny using the ECM and wiring harness from the explorer into his Ranger with out running into major problem's?

Short answer is yes. You have to swap tranny in that engine swap. You will need wire harness and ecu. You will have a few wires to splice. Go to the engine swap part of the forum and you might get more help. Lots of guys here have done swaps and will be willing to help.
