I have a 1998 Ranger ext. cab 4x4 with a 4.0 v6 and it had 140,000 when I blew a head gasket. At the time I had another vehicle and so my truck sat for almost 4 years with the intention of fixing it. Well time didn't allow for it and so the engine would need a rebuild to use. I found another engine with about 110,000 mile on it to swap too cheap to pass up.

My experience with swapping out an engine is very limited, matter of fact I have only done it once 15 years ago and had someone that knew what they were doing really do most of the work.

My question(s) pertain to anything I need to watch out for or anything I should do to it before I drop it back in. I plan on changing the plugs and wires, cleaning it up etc. It was a running engine when pulled and no leaks that I can tell. I just don't want to put it in and find I should have done something that might have been easier with it still out of the truck.

Thanks for your help
