hey guys

I'm new to the site, though I have owned Rangers for years. I have the dreaded lean bank 1&2 engine code, and thought about changing my intake gasket. Anyone here have experiance. I am a diesel mechanic so I can handle it. Just didn't know how big of a pain it was.

How is that a problem with the web site?

It ain't bad to do though. Worst part is the rear bolts, and getting the EGR valve out if you have EGR.

Didn't say anything was a problem with the site.

Thanks for the info though

No, you just posted in the sub-section for reporting site issues. I'm not trying to bust on you, just trying to point it out since you will get more help faster by posting questions in the appropriate sections.

Sorry man I am computer illiterate. I had no idea what section I was in.

I just changed the upper manifold gasket on my truck, it was simple. 6 nuts and it lifts right off, but mine is non-egr. The fuel rail gasket looks simple to change also, but I left mine alone. To do the fuel rail to lower manifold gasket you just need an e-7 reverse torx bit (i believe) and remove the six studs the upper nuts were on. That one would be easy as well. But to do the gasket between the lower intake manifold and head, you have to pull off the valve covers also. Its doable, but more of a chore. There's a great write up on this site for doing it.

Good luck!
