I read the tech writeup on using the 4.0 clutch on the 2.9, is it the same for a 2.8 or are there any differences? I will most likely be running a TK trans.

on the 2.8 it's pretty much the same deal.

but there's a few annoying details.

I'm not entirely sure the clutch slave from either incarnatiojn of the T-K has sufficient range of motion to work correctly with the shicker "package" that the 4.0 flywheel and pressure plate represent.

I'm also unsure about 4.0 flywheel/clutch clearance in the T-K bellhousing

I have never personally attempted to run a 4.0 clutch on a T-K trans.

While I may have been the first to use a 4.0 clutch/flywheel on a 2.9 and showed
everyone else the way I never even attempted it until I had already switched to
the M5OD-R1 trans...

Thanks AllenD, I found out I actually have an FM145 so I will be replacing it with the same...meaning I will not be using a TK, does that make a difference?

The 4.0L clutch setup fit fine inside of my FM146 bellhousing on my 2.9, so maybe it'll work provided the 145 is the same deal.

Can anyone tell me the differences between an FM145 and an FM146?
