looking to see wat i can expect to get fuel mileage wise with my 94 ranger 4.0 v6 5spd 4x4. ive swapped in 3.73 gears from the 3.27 it came with and added some manual locking hubs. maybe a little later on down the road ill put on some 31" tires and a 2" level kit.

also wat are the best mods for these trucks to get better fuel mileage? ive been looking into a pair of headers and a free-er flowing exhaust sustem.

i have the same set up but with 32's. i have brand new oem heads and rockers. i get like 20 highway at 70 so probably 21-22 at 65 or under. and like 17 around town. not terrible. but if you're lifting a truck and have a v6 what do you expect

thanx for the replies.:icon_thumby:. anybody know wat the headers and a exhaust will do for it?

ive debated 4.10s but went with 3.73s instead thinking that 4.10s would be too low with only a 31" tire. does your truck seem to be revved up high at highway speed with the 4.10s. saterday i just wrapped up the swap fromt he original 3.27s in the front to 3.73, wat a biotch job. waiting on my spring perches and hardware for the swap to an explorer rear with 3.73s to match.

I have to double check but i think i am turning 3000 at 67/68.
4.10 is much better better with 33's.
4.10 and 30's are left overs from when i had my 2.9L, which was perfect.
not sure if i can fit 33's under there. i really don't want to lift it another 2"

yea ive been back and forth abotu leveling mine cuz i dont want to loose mileage to wind resistence, but it looks kinda goofy (IMO) cuz the back looks so high in the air.
