3rd times a charm

On my third ranger, first 87 super cab 2.3 5 spd, got totaled by a big ugly Dodge , not my fault; second 89 super cab 2.9 auto, trashed by my daughter n son in law,, my fault!!! third 88 super cab 4 x 4 5 spd, very good shape but wiring bug had it before me now my problem!! Seems even tho all is shut off with switch, something draining battery,, 2.9 with 170,000, runs very good uses very little oil. What I want from it, a gloss Black lifted 4 x 4, 70's bronco drive train and a Hot Turbo Diesel under hood.
Found a semi new Mitsubishi 2.5 4d56T, with AWD trans n case, very similar to 4d55T in 87 rangers. any suggestions, or experiences with install?
