Found out this morning I got a leaky slave cyl again... (94 supercab, 4.0, M50D).... This is getting VERY frustrating as I've had to drop the tranny 3 times already to replace bad cylinders, all of them this year.... the last time I went for the LUK one and it failed on me too...
I'll add that I do know how to drive a stick and I don't spend all the time with my foot on the clutch pedal or anything. I only use DOT 3 fluid from a reputable brand and there is the fact that the temperature here hits 100-something pretty often in the summer, in case that has something to do with the cylinder failing on me........
Does anyone know if there is any sort of "high performance" or better brand of slave cylinders than the stock (LUK) brand? I'm seriously thinking of selling the frikin' truck out of being tired of dropping the tranny every time I have this problem, and I think I will if I can't find a slave cyl brand that will last me more than 3 months without starting to leak..... Also have heard so many bad things about the A4LD than I'm beginning to wonder if Ford was thinking at all when they designed these truck's drive trains....
Hope someone can help.
