35x12.5's posssible???

Is 35x12.5's on a 15x8 wheel possible on a 94' Mazda 4x4 (ranger) with 6" of suspension lift and a little trimming?

I'm directing this to people who have first hand experince instead of hear-say. I don't want a BL if possible

yes its VERY possible, your generation truck often times came with 31's from the factory. that ebing said(and im starting to feel like a broken record) when you run 35's on a ranger, that could come stock with 31's youre really only adding 2" of tire on all sides, so, youre tire will vertically only be 2" more into the wheel well then it is now, so if you run a 6" suspension lift, and u subtract your added tire height, that gives u 4" more in the wheel well to flex those larger tires.

and also since it is 12.5 wide, u will not have any issues rubbing on the inner fender well except at full flex

and oh ya, this isnt hearsay, this is the fact of the matter.....

you will have no problem with 35 on a 8 inch rim. with a 10 inch rim it will rub with the wheels turned on a hard flex

Thanks for the replies! I'm having a hard time deciding on tires.... I'm inbetween a 33x12.5 TSL (33.7" tall) or a 35" Cooper STT. It is a hunting truck now but i'll still be on the street. I want the mud performnace of the TSL but the road manners of the Coopers, lol

I have a 1994 ford... same thing


but i ran 33's on a 10" rim... had clearence issues (with 6" lift.. and 1.5" F-150 spacers) rub when ever i hit a bump or turned..... and i'm still rubbing nowwith 35's on a 8" rim (not the fendars... but the radius arms) but i have a 2" BL.... so i would say they would definatly rub... unless u were to trim the inside portion of the fendar... although with a 2" BL no rubbing and no trimming...

35's are too much tire for a 6" lift if you are going to off road and want suspension travel.....

If I were you I would consider getting 33's depending on your gears. If you have 4.10's then 35 would be fine. Anything less then I would get the 33's.

GIZMO, when you said trim the inside portion of the fender are you talking about the fender well plastic?

You also argued me down saying that a 02' f150 does NOT have a 8.8" ring and pinion. I work on trucks and installed 8.8 reverse gears in my own 02' f-150.
Also, alot is possible with the right backspacing, width of the wheel, tire, and a little bit of fabricating. That is why I asked the opinions of others who have tried it.

9in of lift is huge. I bet they would clear 35's easy.

On a '93 & later, 35s should fit fine with 6" lift. '92down trucks will need a bit of trimming.

BTW, for 35s you'll want at minimum 4.88 gears. 4.56 isn't really quite deep enough.
