so im tired of having a tippy lifted truck, im curently running a 4 inch lift with 35s and fenders cut. apparently im low but the way it doesnt flex in the front with ranger coils and with out extended radius arms is rediculous. the bump steer and camber is a joke too. so my plan is to run a softer coil( maybe cherokee), extended radius arms, and f250 shock towers. for the rear its probably just gonna be a shackle. looking at lots of droop and thats about it. :yahoo:. . oh and lots of cutting, its a b4000 and its gonna be awesome. im putting my 488s it too. what do you think?

thanks dave,

If you have bumpsteer now, don't swap to softer coils yet.

Instead address the cause and fix your steering linkage so that its flat and then you will have no bumpsteer.

THEN, swap/experiment with softer coils.

Otherwise you will open a can of worms, cuss, throw shit, cuss some more and in general be pissed off at the whole TTB suspension your truck has now.

What brand coils are you using now?

Throw some skyjacker 4" coils, extended radius arms, an extreme drop skyjacker pitman arm and you will have good flex, almost no bumpsteer, great drivabiltiy, and it will align without a problem.

Otherwise go back to stock, hack the fenders away and run 35's if you wish :icon_thumby:

I have Skyjacker coils and I can stuff a FRONT tire, and droop out pretty good too. I pull about 11" of travel up front. With no bumpsteer.

ive done my home work on this subject, and its just to much money to be putting into this truck, and ive got bds coils i think( picked up the lift for 60 bucks) oh and i dont have the proper drop brckets for the front, my center u joints rub every time it compeses like an inch. im pretty sure shits just bend but im over it. oh how do peolple like the leveling coils? oh and ill get picture up soon.

thanks dave,

Drop it back down to stock and fix your steering. Add the 35's and chop away. I wheeled with a guy in a TJ, 40's, SRT4 Neon motor and NO LIFT...even stock shocks. He could take the crazy lines with a center of gravity that low!

ya man im looking forward to it, almost rolled my truck now off a 20 foot cliff last weekend and my freind with a stock sidekick on bald ass 33s made it and winched me out along with too come alongs. im picking up the truck on saturday and the destuction begins. i love 500 dollar rangers/mazdas,

so im wondering if i should keep my drop pitman arm. i know with the 4 inch lift i should have had a skyjacker hella drop to make the steering leval with it self, so with a two inch lift the the front it should work out perfect right, let me know. oh and is there a good coil that a 2 inch lift or 1.5 or something.

thanks dave,

A std dropped arm is 2" dropped from stock, it would be perfect if you have 2" axle drop brackets.

If you're thinking of going back to stock brackets and leveling coils/spacers, then you probably could go back to a stock pitman arm as well (you'd actually need a 1" drop arm for it to be ideal on that setup, though I don't think one like that is available).

FWIW, your truck doesn't look all that tall to me. I'd leave it as it is myself and just get some better springs under it (stiff coils up front will make it feel much more tippy, especially if turning to go downhill and there's a small drop-off or something there you have to go over).

ya im still contemplating lowering it, everyone thinks i shouldn't and i don't know if i can take a weekend off wheelin :thefinger:. i have to buy lift brackets too cause my brackets are supper bent. i drilled out my frame, ready for extended radius arms. anyone know were to buy the hella drop pitman arm other than from this site.

thanks dave.
