I was wondering what transmition i would have to get with a 351w or if my stock 4 speed tranny will work.

u will need a transmission designed to work with a small block, in a 2wd application i would suggest either a ranger t5 with the correct input shaft and pilot bearing, or as autos go, a c4 automatic.

-tremec of choice for a 2wd
4 speeds
T18, T19, NP435
5speeds
M5OD R2, ZF
Autos
C4, C5(really a C4) C6, AOD
There are later computer controlled autos but I'm doubting you are getting into that yet
Those are pretty much the choices you have.
