Alright hers my Delila. I want to replace my 4.0 with a 351 Windsor. I know that I will need to upgrade the transmission but cant find any information on how to keep my 4x4. Do i need a different transfer case or will my existing one work? also I do not have a lift is it recommended to get a 1" lift? I am going to get a custom exhaust made so im good there. Is there anything else I need to know before I start?

you plan on putting in your 98' ranger? or another truck?

ya whitie a 351w in a 98+ ranger is a hell of a biuld.. iam working on a 99 ranger and there is all kinds of thangs you have to look at.. if you lift the body up,, it easyer to put the 351 in and you can go with a C4 trans or a C6 if you lift it.. you well run in to oil pan isusse and doing a custom exhaust is a good thang.. headers to... i can't help on the transfer case IDK.. Look in the tech_library form there alot of stuff in there that well help you out.. a 302 well drop in a hell of alot easyer... trust me i know..lol GL..
