Hey Guys, I'm sure this has been asked time and time again but I'm going to bring it up again. I have 35 inch tires on my Explorer and have been running them for 2 years now with 3.55 gearing but never had the funds for gears and lockers. I know it sounds retarded but my 4.0L turns them very well with my engine mods. Anyways I'm ready for some more torque for towing and off the line starts. I've done the math and are almost positive on 4.88 gears for my Dana 35 and 8.8. But I need some info from the guys who have already ran 4.56 and 4.88 gears. Anything gas mileage, Rpm @ Speed, Overall best for 35's is very helpful...
My Explorer is a daily driver that does tow and does highway speed regularly but boggs in mud just as much. So what do you guys recommend for 35 Inch Tires??

This information IS in the FAQ at the top here (as well as in the Tech Library)

4.88 gears for 35s on the 4.0L.

Ditto on the 4.88's
