Hi all,
Just purchased an 84 short bed 2wd with a 347ci sbf hooked to a t5 and a 8.8 rear. It has air conditioning on it so there’s a condenser in front of the radiator. Radiator is larger than stock and it has a pusher electric fan on the condenser due to having zero room on the engine bay side. 160 Thermostat is in it and working correctly. My question is how can I keep the heating under control? It can’t set in traffic long without running the temp up to around 215. I can’t fit a larger rad in due to the condenser. Is there a fix for this issue?
Thanks in advance

heating up sitting in traffic is an air flow issue, need a better fan set up or a remote condenser with it`s own fan unit.
pusher fans are not as efficient as puller fans. would it be possible to mount a puller fan or a mechanical fan with a shroud ?
the old hot rodder that helped me had a few rules for mechanical fan set ups.
1. if the radiator is 20" wide a fan 18" or 19" in diameter is needed
2. the fan blades must be half way inside the shroud & a minimum of 1" from the radiator. use a fan with wide blades.
3. be sure the air flow cannot get around the sides, top or bottom of the radiator.

No room for a puller fan setup. My next move was to get a larger higher cfm fan, just wanted to make sure I’m headed in the right direction. I haven’t been out to look but I wonder if I can’t move the condenser and radiator forward enough to fit the fan on the correct side
