A quick ? I have done a search and did not come up with the answer I need so I will ask directly. I have a 01 4x4 stepside it currently has 245/75R16 on it. A buddy has a set of 33x12.5R15 for me but I do not know if they will fit without a lift. I know I will have to crank the torsion bars but can I get them to fit without buying any type of lift. I would like to know for sure before I go out and buy a set of 15" rims to mount them on. I assume 15X10 would be the best rims for the job correct me if I am wrong. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you already know everything. :icon_thumby: I'm almost entirely sure if you just crank the t-bars you'll have enough clearance up front. You may need to throw a block in the rear or get lift shackles, depending on what shape your current leafs are. And 15x10 rims will work for sure. Just make sure you get the offset right when you go and buy them.

Do you know your gearing? Id at least put a 3 inch body lift or the tire will look to big. Ive seen it before it looks kinda "stuffed".

ya I have 4.10 gears in it it has the off road package. I kind of like the short stout look and in the future I can always lift it if I want. I am just looking at a project for this weekend.

I'm sure they would fit, but it would be tight, and they'd probably rub when you turned if you turned sharp...

15x8 rims are adequate. 3.75" backspace is stock.

They should fit with a t-bar crank and 2" chevy drop shackle in the rear.

You will need an alignment.

They may rub if you get off-camber. If that is the case you can either trim your fenders or go with a body lift (cheaper than a suspension lift for newer trucks). You can do 1, 2 or 3" for the body lift. Most kits are 3" but there are smaller ones out there (my choptop is running a 2" body lift).

You may experience some rubbing of the front tires at full lock (turning the wheel).

not trying to bring anyone down but I think if you put 33s on your truck with no lift you are going to be disappointed (IMO). When I had 33s on my truck, I had a 3 inch body lift #1 t-bars and an add a leaf and I still rubbed when turning sharply or when I was off camber.

ok i Drive the EXACT same truck. i maxed the t bars and put 33 12.50s on 15x8 soft 8s and it was hairy driving over bumps and me wheeling it was out of the question period. a week later im running a 3 inch body lift and the explorer spring swap got done last night. my steppie looks sick. ill get some before and after pictures for you in a few hours its raining in georgia lol hold off on putting the tires on

do you have any pics before and after lift.

you can do it with just a torsion crank, my buddy has 33s on his, and they only run when your on full turn..

Anyones front pasdenger tire rub something when backing up turning to the right "cranking wheel to left" ? Heard it this morning and i only have 31x1050

mine used to rub on driver side, full left lock.

33's with no lift will be very dissapointing....... watch out for hard wheeling, potholes, and uhm marbles in the road.
