Ok so my assed out tires are of course assed out and its time for a new ones. I have a 97 ranger with a leveling kit on it. Can I fit 33x10.5's on there? If i can what kind of backspacing would i need for the rims? Would rubbing be a issue? I saw a few wheel and tire packages on jc whitney that looked right up my alley.:icon_confused:

33x10.50s should fit if you put them on the stock rims (15x7, 4.5" backspace)

wow, i didnt think 33's would fit. but i was thinkin of 12.50s's. i was gonna suggest 32's

33x10.5 will fit on the stock rims without rubbing as has already been said....

ok forget the last question this is the last one i promise. if i went with a 8inch wide rim what kind of back spacing would i need? thank you for all your help guys i appreciate it?

With only having a leveling kit on there, I'd stick with the 7" wheels and stock backspace for your 33x10.50s.

If you eventually put a real lift on it, then 15x8 with 3.75" BS would fit a 33x12.50 well.

Picked up a cheap 1994 Ranger regular cab short box 4x4 for a cheap wheeler and I am going to put on the Skyjacker leveling coils. I have access to some cheap tires that I didn't think would fit on the truck, but this thread got me thinking....

One possibility is a set of 31x11.50R15 LTB's that I could run on the stock deerhoof (I think that is what they are called) wheels. The wheels are 15x7 if I have my information correct. I know that 31x10.50R15's fit fine, but will I have any issues with this setup?

Another possibility is a set of 285/75R16 BFG MT that I would have to buy wheels for. Will this tire work or is it too wide? 4x4junkie you stated that 33x10.50 works, but this would be a 33x11.50 tire. If it will work, what spec wheels should I get? 16x7 or 16x8? What would be the correct backspacing?

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.:)

31x11.50s shouldn't be a problem.

285/75R16s might rub a bit, but if a tiny amount of trimming isn't an issue, you could fit them no problem.

4x4junkie - thanks for the information. The 31x11.50s might be gone, but I do have access to the 285/75R16s and a set of 265/75R16s (although these are more street tires) that I can put on the truck. What wheel specs should I be looking at for those tires with the setup I have?

Also, if I put the 285's on, is the trimming at the rear of the front wheelwells? I have the Ranger stock wheelwell flares that I can remove as well. Thanks again!!:)

Stock RBV wheels would work (16x7, 4.5" backspace). You could use 16x8 also, although using these may require a bit more trimming.

Rear part of front fender, and front of rear fender, most likely (possibly the front valence/bumper too).
