hey guys , i am doing drop shackles and a torsion bar crank to lift my truck , currently i have 31's on my truck , i was wondering if after the lift i could fit some 32's on it , i am running 15x8 rims , and will a stock 3.0 with 3.73 gears be able to turn a set of 32's , i am getting a powertrax in july

I don't know how much lift you are going to get out of that but I have 33x10.50x15s on my truck. I only have a slight torsion crank and a 3" PA BL on it. I think that you could clear 32s if you have 31s on it right now.

Yeah, you can do it. Also, you will definitely need a regear.

Assuming your 15x8's have the common 3.75" backspace, 32x11.50's will fit with just the torsion twist and you won't even need the shackles unless you just want to make it higher.
3.0's make their power up high so you would be better off with 4.56 gears although with an automatic you could live with 4.10's. IMO not enough difference between 3.73's and 4.10's so if you're planning on keeping 32's on it I'd go with 4.56's since the cost would be the same.

Really? The 1/4" difference will cause that much of a change? I am going to need new tires soon and will also be lifting and I was considering 32's. Just the torsion crank will work? I have mine cranked 1.5" and the fender height is at 34". Am I good. I can still crank some more, if I have to.

I had 32's on my old 2002 Ranger with just a torsion crank. Ditto my old 2005 Sport Trac but I had shackles too since Explorers have rear tire clearance issues. Actually when I got the Ranger new the bars were set so low that the stock tires rubbed at full lock just turning into a parking space. On Rangers bigger tires are likely to rub on the inside, not the outer fender, so you need a wheel that will set the tire farther out away from the body.
I had a pic of the front fender measurement on my '02 with a yardstick, can't find it now but I'm pretty sure it was about 34" also. I ran 32's on the stock 16" rims, never had any problems including off-road.

not really a big fan of gear changes , i guess i will stick with the 31's for now , since this truck is my daily driver
