302 motor?

Hey my name is Robert and I have a 2000 Ranger,and the motor blew so,I have been thinking of doing this swap for some time now,and I think im ready but,There are some questions I want to go carbed and I was wondering if there is a certain year motor like 78-95 etc. Also is it realistically to build a good dd around 350 hp?
