Im thinking about picking up an 86 ranger that already has a 302 in it but I have a 351c I want to put in but im really lazy. so the question at hand is will a 351 bolt up to the 302 mounts already in the the truck? or do i gotta do more cutting and welding? thanks a bunch

i know that in fullsize applications they are a direct bolt in, including the transmission[the 302 and 351C have the same bolt pattern] i believe the motor mounts are located in the same position also. i had a 72 gran torino that had a 302 and i swapped it for a 351C, so since your truck is already set up for a 302 , i'd have to say you're golden

The mounts and such will all work. The exhaust will not. I have yet to see a 302 Ranger header work 100% without issues. The exhaust will be the hard part and you will possibly need to trim the heater box more depending on how much was cut out of it.
