In a week or 2, I will be picking up a 300 I6/ 5spd up from my local junkyard, and it will be going into my scratch built ratrod. The cab is custom built, The front of the chassis is basic 1994 Ford Ranger, and I have not yet built cab mounts ( waiting for engine so I can fit it ), so the cab has about 4" of wiggle room, and it will run hoodless, so I should have plenty of room... As far as the choice of the 300. I have a 460 I was going to use, but it turned out to be in pretty bad shape. The 300 is what my local and trusted yard has on hand, and it's cheap. Grade A, road tested '95 EFI engine with 115k miles for $300. 5spd Toyo Kogo is out of another truck with 150k miles, but also grade A road tested for $275. $575 will barely touch a decent rebuild kit for a 460 let alone machining. and it's a '75 smogger 460 with 50 less hp than the 300 I6.... Anyway I'v searched on here and all over the internet, and I'v found that 300 I6's have been put into Rangers, but I can't find anything about mounts other than 2.8/2.9 mounts with the allignment pin cut off, but I have 2.3L towers.. anyone have a pic of 2.9L towers with engine removed, or better yet, a pic of the mountings for a 300 I6 in a ranger chassis? thanks

Not sure about the mounts but will say that if you go solid on the motor mounts then you will have to go solid on the tanny ones.

How do you plan on hooking up the TK5 tranny to the 300, if thats what you were doing? If you are planing to do that, the tranny wont last long.

It's the 5spd trans that came stock in the 300 I6 trucks starting in like '88. It's not the Ranger Toyo Kogo, altho they are simmilar in design. The F-150 trans should bolt right to the Ranger trans crossmember, but I'll probably have to move it back.. I'll use rubber or polyurethane isolated motor mounts, and the same for tranny mounts. I6's are smooth, but there not that smooth

Prsonally I dont like perfectly smooth running engines, I like a bit of shake in my truck.
