too all of you who have or know someone who has swapped a 300 I6 into their rbv I am looking for any info on all aspectsinvolved in this swap (I KNOW a 302 swap would be easier but this is my choice not yours, boo me if you like)

A 3 inch body lift makes things a hell of a lot eaiser.

.....im not sure if the 3 inch body lift will clear up any radiator issues, but radiator clearance may be an issue...maybe run an electric fan?

Other then that its not any different then a 302/351W swap. Just the 300 is an extemely L-O-N-G engine. It uses the same bellhousing and i believe motormounts as the V8.

later,
Dustin

Once you get past the length, it's a pretty reasonable swap. But that's a big thing to get past. The only user I can specifically remember doing this swap ended up cutting the firewall and letting the engine extend well past it.

mine dont have a body lift and i didn't cut the firewall. but im running a rear mounted radiator

I was looking at doing this swap a while back but i didnt get to involved in it. The 300 will fit without hacking the firewall, if you wanted to keep a front mounted radiator without a lift i think youre looking at either A- Electric Fan or B- Mounting the radiator on the front side of the core support.

If you want i can go measure my 300 I6 in my F150 to give you a general idea of what your looking at.

Dustin

that would be apreciated and ill go and measure the room in mine. hey chopped how tight is everything in yours

Ill measure it tommorrow.

Just got in from ice fishin and now its dark :P

Dustin

i dont know how tight it would be with stock front frame rails. mine was totaled in its past life so i just cut off the factory frame from the cab forward.
i took my ac box out so i could push it back a little farther and lower it down more.
the carb was also a little tall so i got a 4bbl intake manifold and am putting throttle body fuel injection on it
