What needs to be modified when doing the PA 3" lift on a 87 ranger super cab 4x4 manual tranny? I know the steering column and shifter need extensions. What about heater hoses, brake lines, fuel lines, etc?

go to pa's web site and download the instructions. That's what I did and I have read it about 40 times. I hope it helps me when I do mine next week.

Are you going to replace your body bushings too?

Yeah, I bought them before I got the BL. I have one that is really bad.

You will need to move the parking brake cable bracket on the driver side frame rail. It is easy, take out one bolt, drill new hole 3" above existing hole and bolt bracket in new hole. Make sure you ubolt it before you jack up the cab.

I didn't have any problems with hoses. I did loosen the radiator hoses and twisted them so they where not in a bind. When the radiator went up with the cab the angle changed and was a minor thing to get it right again.

So, I should remove the parking brake cable bracket before doing the lift and after the lift is done, install bracket in new position?

For those of you that have done the 3" body lift on first generation rangers...Did you have to extend your fuel filler hose? Bottom radiator hose? What about the clutch reservoir? And where can I get the shifter extension?

I have been reading up on doing a BL on my 86 ex. cab. You may have to move your clutch res. down a few in. and if you have the FM 145 there is no extension for it you will have to get 3" welded to your shifter.

Ok. So, now I find out the clutch reservoir needs to be dropped...why doesnt PA include this info in the instruction manual?

It would be really nice to have somebody who owns a first gen with a 3" body lift to chime in and let us know everything that needs to be done. or simply somebody who knows what needs to be done....

I did, otherwise it would pull on it.

That is pretty much it, you have cut off a lot of the fan shroud as well or move the radiator (which I wish I would have looked into)

I extended the 4x4 lever myself as the instructions included nothing about how to do it.

I didn't touch the filler hose, it used to kick the gas station pump off a lot and after the BL it doesn't.

The hardest part was engineering front bumper brackets, but even that wasn't too hard.
