i have an axle from a 3.0l standard transmission what gears would be in

check the axle tag.

But most likely 3.55's or 3.73's.

If there's no tag....take the cover and on the Ring gear there will be the ring gear and pinion gear teeth counts. Divide....

i was just curious if the gears were different then my 2wd ranger it has a 4.0l with an auto. the axle that i was wondering if its worth puttin in is from my 4wd 3.0l ranger with a standard tranny.
thanks alot
dan

a 3.0 Ranger will have a 7.5" rear axle with 3.45, 3.73 or possibly (remote) 4.10's

a 4.0 Ranger can have anything from 3.27's to 3.55's, 3.73's or again, 4.10's (rare) but WILL have an 8.8" axle.

You really wouldn't want to ut a 7.5" with 4.10's behind a 4.0.
