So who said the 3.0L was gutless?

Twin turbo... 450 hp..... 390ft lb torque

My Vulcan w/stick seems to not be pulling like it used to, esp. in 2nd gear, ever since they started watering down the sheeple fuel w/ 10% ethanol... then again, maybe I need a new/cleaned PCV, and other lovin' attention. :dunno:
 
First of all, I'm new to the site. I've been a member on other ranger forums, and started lurking here awhile ago. You've got a nice place for sure, and I've found lots of info!
Secondly, the Rossion's and Nobles are sweet, but they don't use a Vulcan. Their engines are the Duratec 3.0 found in Escapes. They have forged internals from the factory, so they can support the boost, as well as double over-head cams to aid in the power making.
 
My 3.0 isnt slow. I took down a 4.3 silvy today. I only got through two gears before the next light. Good times comin home from work. Haha.
 
Change the oil, keep coolant in it, rev the bitch, put low gears in it, and don't lug it and the 3.0 will take care of you. Not only reliability wise, but power wise.

i LOVE my truck and i can do cosmetic stuff to it, lift it and put big tires on it but the engine is still the same. if you take care of it it will runn forever i bought mine with 93xxx on it now it only has 104xxx which is very low for this engine but i have drag raced it at the track.....locking myself outta the gears in the tranny and spinning well into second. i have body slammed it (accidentally) going over whoops in the desert ripped my friends out of the dirt and haul my quad everywhere and even go to cali once in awhile so from others feedback and my own experience it won't die alittle TLC once in awhile it will help me out forever........
 
thats not a ford 3.0 dumbass this shouldnt even be on here i love my 3.0 but thats nothing to do with anything ford ranger.

That's not the same 3.0 that we have. Ours is all iron block...that one says it's aluminum. If that's anything Ford, it would be the DOHC 3.0, which I'm not even sure it's that.
 
bring watever you got down here to louisiana and ill run you with 280k on the factory motor and show you the 3.0 has more balls than youd imagine. hell even the factory 3.45s and the slipping converter in the a4ld 4wd will outpull a 2004 saleen mustang up to 45 mph, lets just say that guy was pissed when i was up his ass and he hit the limiter b4 i did. his was 98, mine wont go into 4th just rev out 3rd at 109mph. yes that was a clocked speed too, had fun talking my way out of that tkt to say the least.

ive done it at 225k miles 2 yrs ago buddy, i wish i had a vid to prove it to you. i had the jump and he had to shift twice to get to 45 mine stayed strong to 45 in 1st and stayed a tire length ahead of him. he pulled ahead finally and he hit 3rd doing sixty and left me i dont shift out of 2nd til 70. he started slowing down cussing and i blew by him banging out with the speedo needle between drive and overdrive on the gear position indicator.
