On a replacement water pump for this engine, what do i put on my pump bolts
to keep them from leaking coolant??

I put never seize on mine, I dont think these go into the waterjacket I could be wrong. But no issues with mine

I used black rtv (it's what I had on hand) on the bolts that looked like they had red rtv on them when I took them out.

I always use pipe sealant. I prefer to use the goo vs the ribbon.

Locovaca... that is exactly right. get some pipe dope in the squeeze tube. Lock-tite makes it, just aply some to the ende of the threads, and iwill seal it right up! Thats what is supposed to be used. it is practically a liquid teflon! works awesome for for fittings on hydraulic systems or anything to seal threads!
