im wondering if it is possible to put a t5 trans in my 96 b3000 ext cab. and if so what will i need?

You would need an adapter plate. Ford never mated a T5 to a 3.0 for regular production. There is also no company (that I know of) that builds such an adapter. It would have to be custom made.

hmmmm ok, could i fit up the 5spd trans from the 4.0?

Yup, the 3.0 has a unique bell housing pattern. The M5OD R1 does not have a removable bell housing. The 3.0 M5OD is a fairly common trans. I have two empty housings in my garage. I have been looking for a while and have not been able to find a 4.0 housing.

ok, because my syncro is starting to go out. do you know where i can find a fully rebuilt trans?

Rebuilt? Lots of places... $$$$ though... I'd just go with a junkyard trans if I were you, or tear into it myself...

thanks for everyones help, that does seem like alot of work and alot of running around for parts.
