ill be doing a turbo 3.3 morana kit, you can look up the parts at moranav6racing.com thats the only set of forged pistons and rods along w/ an oversized cast crank available for a 3.0. the only other option you have 3.0 wise is the taurus sho engine, which is a complete motorswap, i think it still has hypereutectic pistons and cast rods/crank. they also offer head porting and 1.6 and 1.7 rockers, they show 1.72 rockers but they are out of stock. im looking for 300hp at 15psi. the kit in an 11:1 compression would get you around 240 hp per morana (i was considering an n/a setup but wanted to know what the kit was good for, more considerable gains w/ a turbo.) hope to hear you go get a good one going. 3.0s only interchange w/ 3.0s tranny wise, and 3.8 fwds, i was almost considering a 3.8 taurus swap and building that w/ mustang parts, but since i have a 3.0 block im going to build that up instead. note that only the taurus 3.8 (front wheel drive) will work, the 4.2 and 3.8 out of f150s mustangs etc only bolt up to 5.0 trannys. i assume you want to build your 3.0 up since you cant bolt any other motor up to your tranny as i cant either. jba makes headers, underdriving helps, ill be doing the centerforce 10 inch clutch and m50d swap (i have an a4ld i want to get rid of...) intakes you have a 2000 so you have a composite plenum, bolt on a 60mm t/b (look around for the dif mods, rogueperformance.com is a good start) dont be fooled by the k&n crap it doesnt work, exhausts leave the cat system alone a good flowmaster/proflow/magnaflow/turbo setup w/ 2.5 inch piping does help a lil after building it up. id do a drop in filter or conical filter, leave the stock intake setup alone unless boosting. some ppl super and turbo theirs, ill be turboing w/ a single garrett have yet to determine the size, was going to do dual turbos but no room. hope this helps point you in the right direction, summitracing.com is awesome for resources parts wise and jy otherwise. one jy upgrade i do recommend is a 4.0 dual core radiator and youll need the 4.0 shrowd, the 3.0 wont bolt up and chopping it looks like crap. good luck i hope to see more of your work in the future. as for boring, its not recommended to go above .030 as the block cant take the stress.

just posting my findings so far and helping the guy out. im going to build up my 3.0 so i fig i would share info w/ him and let him get a feel for the area so he can make an informed decision.

thanks alot this really helps. i was looking at the hypertonic pistind and rod/cranks. i figuered it would cost me around 575 for my pistons and rings, gaskets and so on plus what the machine shops costs. i looked that th morana kit im not really looking to spend 2 to 3 grand rebuilding my motor as i wont be turboing or supercharging it. the only thing i wondered about the morana kit was do you send them your block and the set it up and install or do they just send you the parts and you have to have a machine shop do the work?
