I have a 1999 3.0 ranger flex fuel the motor roughly has 130000 on it and it is a jasper motor.it was missing pretty bad so I did plugs wires new coil crank sensor and cam synconiser. The other day I determined the mis was caused by an injector but still not sure. So I seafoamed the engine lrt it set for an hr and now it has a light kocking sound on the drivers side. I am almost 100percent sure it is not carbon bouncing around. It is much deeper and louder. The knock/click is constant. I pulled the valve covers and everything seemed fine.I drained the oil and no metal shavings I did a compresion test and all is good. Im puzzled any suggestions any helps appreciated thanks

With engine idling and knock heard, remove one spark plug wire at a time(from the coil is easier), if knock goes away then you probably have a connecting rod going bad on that cylinder.
The "knock" is from the cylinder firing and the rod slapping on the crank because bearing is no longer tight.

BUT..............this test could also show a bad exhaust manifold gasket, "knock" goes away because exhaust coming out of that cylinder is no longer under pressure.

"Seafoamed the engine"???
Pouring liquid into a running engine is a dicey proposition under the best circumstances, a little too much at one time and BANG, piston or connecting rod problem.
Pouring liquid into a non-running engine is death to the engine, lol.

I removed the spark plug wires and it made no difference the noise did not go away...I ran the seafoam throught the brake booster vacuum as the can instructed

The noise is not load enough to be a rod its a knock and it sounds like its from the top end but I pulled the valave covers and everything is fine?
