Online a new 3.0 radiator costs exactly the same as a new 4.0 one. So would the 4.0 radiator cool better, and fit just the same, as my 3.0 radiator?

The 4.0 is a 3 row and I'm pretty sure my 3.0 radiator is only a single row.

my 3.0 seems to be fine with the stock(or remake) replacment 3.0 rad. i dont know if the 4.0 would just fit in. or maybe it would/

maybe if someone could enlighten this for us????

only problem i have is leaking from the thermostat hose

i thought rangers were at least 2 row? ill look for info

i found 4.0 v6 that are 2 core
i think the 4.0's and 3.0's are the same internal radiator, just differenciates in the design for the motor.

I'm 90% sure the 4.0 is better somehow. Koda search in the v8 section. If I remember right they usually swap in a 4.0 radiator. I could be totally wrong here though.

i believe it is almost a dirrect swap except the fan shroud is different. but i believe you are right, a 3.0 Rad is a 1 row and a 4.0 Rad is a 2 or 3 row IIRC

Well, if the fan shroud is different I should probably go with the 3.0 radiator then. I don't want to have to buy one of those too.

Out of curiosity what happened to your radiator koda?

The area where the plastic connects to the metal is pouring out water.

I JB Welded it last night, and so far it's holding. But you never know.

Yeah i had a problem with mine leaking there before i took some vice grips and managed to clamp down on it better so it would seal up. You pretty much have to have it out of the truck to do that though. Mine still has a small leak I can't find but i just add a lil bit of antifreeze every few weeks and call it good. To much other stuff to fix for now.

Well, it would cost me about 20 bucks to drive out to the Junk Yard.

I'll see if the local one has anything. They're not a u-pull-it so their rates are pretty high overall.

I just put a 2 row Exploder rad in my 94 3L.

The stock shroud will not work, you need the Exploder one.

The fan clutch and fan just BARELY fit in. Maybe the Exploder fan clutch is shorter. If so, use that. I don't have the shroud yet, so I can't tell you.

I don't know where you are looking, but everywhere I found the 3L rad was almost twice as much. I got a new 4L 2 row for $65 delivered.
