has anyone here ever had results with a 94 type 3.0 with a jet performance underdive set and an elec fan?

If your question is would it show any good results? Not a chance.. Lots of guys have done these things and some even think it was worth the money and time.. But actually in normal driving there isn't much hope for any change.

You're going to find individuals on this site that have never actually done the mods that they give advice on, yet even though those individuals don't have any personal knowledge about a particular mod, they will none-the-less confidently offer expert advice on whether those mods will or will not work. Very strange.

Having said all that, if you'll do a search you'll find that there are plenty of folks here on the site that are running underdrive pulley sets on their 3.0's and are very happy with the results, and if you'll do a search you'll find plenty of folks (including myself) here on the site that are running e-fans on their 3.0's and are very happy with the results. You won't see huge increases in power from the mods, there are worthwhile gains to be made and the 3.0 engine needs all the help it can get.

Ya see! Even the users of those items declare them to do little if anything.

thats stuff you do after you have nothing else like alcohol injected, supercharged, retard mobile and you are trying to squeez out the last horsepower

Actually, those are GREAT beginner mods. They require very little time or money to install. The pulley's are an easy bolt on, and the efan requires very little to install depending on which fan you use. I did see gains in both mileage and performance when I installed my pulleys and efan. I consider them to be the best bang for your buck mods for a 3.0, and I'd recommend them to anyone!

I think the UDPs from Underdog Performance are about the best bang-for-the-buck modification I've ever done to any vehicle I've owned. I highly recommend them--and I don't impress easy.

Thanks for all the help. I want the truck to be faster and be able to pull more so I don't know which one I'll go withe first or if there's any other mods I can do with better results, but since I'm on a budget I'll have to look around. Also do any of the trs venders have anything good for the 3.0s?

Just get the underdrive crank pulley.

The rest of the pulleys don't do much in terms of performance anyway. You'll need a shorter belt after the swap, since the UDP is smaller in diameter. Underdog sells Gatorback belts in the appropriate length, or if you want to save a few bucks, you can cross-reference the part number to a cheaper belt that you can source at your local parts store or RockAuto.com.

An underdrive pulley should be the 1st mod on any 3.0 Ranger, doesn't take long for it to pay for itself.

If you do a lot of towing, a tuner would be on my list as well. Many tuners can write custom towing or torque tunes that would improve your power, and perhaps mileage as well.

I don't have one, but I know a couple people who do, and they love it. It does everything listed in the add there. It's not really a tuner though, because it doesn't hold any tunes, and isn't really going to enhance your truck. It can be a useful diagnostic tool, and can help you keep an eye on whats going on with your truck though.

I have one & they are a nice tool to monitor your fuel mileage & can be set to read many engine sensor functions in real time. This is not a tuner to modify the ECM with.
