whats the best way i can get more low end torque from a 3.0? ive started making a set of long tube headers and am thinking about a port and polish for the heads

Or you could realize that these motors are revvers, and NOT low end torque motors and save yourself some headaches. The ONLY motors that are low end torque motors in the rangers are the Cologne engines...2.8,2.9,4.0. The Limas and vulcans make power above 3K. You might be able to get more low end with a cam, but no guarantees there.

Wasting time and money. You might get a few ft/lbs if you do it right but not more. Port/polish will most likely cost you low end. If want torque, you are looking at an engine swap.

alright thanks for the help

in that case how easy are they to blow up so i have an excuse to replace the motor? lol

Really easy if you drain the oil and coolant out first...

Thing is, the stupid engine doesn't swap with other RBV engines....which is why very soon I will get a 2008 4.0 ranger.
