ok guys i have a 99 3.go ranger and i was wondering where i can buy a pair of cheap headers for my truck. any advice is welcome. thanks guys

pacesetter sells them for the 3.0 for $200 do a search and you will find them.

I'm willing to bet you those are V8 swap headers. They list the headers for 2.5L and 3.0L engines, and we all know I4 headers are way different then a 60* V6. lol. Besides, if pacesetter did infact make headers for the 3.0L I would not suggest them. A better part of their products I have seen are built very poorly and have a less-than-desirable fit. Gibson was manufacturing headers for newer model Rangers with a 3.0L but I'm not so sure about a '99. JBA, although expensive, build excellent quality headers. Go on and check out stuffforyourranger.com as they have competitive prices and awesome customer care.

I do not know what you have installed on your 3.0L for performance, yet. But I highly suggest an underdrive pully, CAI, throttle body, and 1.7:1 roller rockers, and possibly a tune before spending the money on headers. I say this for three reasons, 1:the headers are expensive and on stock engines will only give a slight power increase where as a crank underdrive pulley would yield the same effects, basically. 2:When the 3.0L is breathing better from the intake and 1.7 rockers, then the headers will really "shine" and perform. 3:underdrive pulley, CAI, throttle body (and possibly 1.7 rockers) are easier to install and less time consuming than the headers. Good luck to ya, and happy modding!

ok hanks alot guys i appreciated it alot. any other more performance help would be greatly loved. thanks guys:icon_thumby:

What have you done to your truck so far, Masterhammer?

On my 3.0 I opened up the hole a little on the front of the airbox so its closer to the area of the inside diameter of the intake pipe, which I also replaced with a solid pipe instead of the rubber one, I ported and polished my MAFS housing, and I went with a 2.5" cat-back with a Flowmaster Delta 40 muffler. I'm pondering headerss since I noticed the other day I seem to have a stud missing on my exhaust manifold on the passenger side and I have a feeling to get it fixed that side will need ot be taken apart, so if I'm in there anyways... but at least I've apparently deduced the cause of the ticking sound when my engine is cold right?

Did I notice a difference? Yes, but nothing neck snapping and for what effort I put into it (about $220 for the exhaust since my muffler was rotting here in lovely MN, and $20 for a junkyard MAF housing and $15 for an airbox so if I want or need to, I can go back to stock), I feel I got my money and times worth.

The worst thing you can buy is anything from Pace Setter. Remember, anything is better than Pace Setter!
