k, can anybody give me a suggestion. I have a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT with a 3.0 L V6 engine in it. I bought it stock and the only thing ive done to it was disconnect the exhaust pipe right behind the cat, to get a "better sound" than stock. But now i have some money to blow, and im sick of the goddamn ricer sound from my disconnected pipe. Can anybody tell me what i should do to get the absolute best sound out of my little V6. I want it to be loud but not have that ricer car sound. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to make my exhaust system sound better. Anyones help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

For sound, go with a Flowmaster 40 2 chamber.

A Thrush Welded 2 chamber muffler is the same thing and can be had from Jegs or Summit Racing for about 30$

hmm, so what would be the benefit of the flowmaster, i also am looking for exhaust for my truck (thread: 4.0 2008 fx4) and i cant decide on what i want to do either! any recommendations :) (the thrush website has a thing where you can hear all the mufflers...cool!)

Whats the thrush website called? do they sound any good, or do they still sound like ricers?

Too bad the sound clip is of a V8. Im looking at the Hooker Max Flows. They flow the same as a straight pipe but are mellow when at idle or cruise but get pretty loud when full throttle. Very similar to magnaflows.

if you want cheep go cherry bomb glass pack to a 45 deggre dump out the side. glass packs always work

yea. idk, i dont like the ricer sound tht glasspacks make, like ive heard way too many honda civics with glasspacks and im sick of them.

u do gotta good point, well, what exactly does a cherrybomb glass do? does it make that cool resonating sound, or does it make your exhaust pipe sound like its straight piped?

it sounds like a straight pipe, only a little "softer" around the edges.

if you want resonation, get a chambered muffler.
