So the engine in my 95 3.0 5 speed 4x4 went kaput and I picked up one out of a 2003. What I forgot to do was keep the harness off the old engine since the donor was 2wd auto. So my question is do I need a harness from the exact same 3.0 4x4 5 speed (seems super hard to find in my area) or can I use one from a 3.0 4x4 auto(very abundant in my area)? or possibly a 4.0 harness? which also seems easier to source out of my local pick n pulls.

Thanks!
Steve

You can run a manual trans on an auto harness. You can't run an auto on a manual harness.

4.0 harness probably won't work. Things are in different places.

Ok awesome that's what I thought I remembered reading someplace but couldn't find it.

Thanks!

Yeah, you just have to splice a few wires together to fix the start and reverse light circuits.
