Hi all.
Was hoping that someone may have some clues to this problem. The truck about 2 weeks ago suddenly quit at 55 mph. Had all electrical still. let it set for a minute and it started and ran. I downloaded this code P0320 engine speed, distributor circuit malfunction. After reading a few tech help articles. I decided that it acted like a coil. I happen to have one on hend so installed it. Was good for about 2 weeks 400 miles. started it to warm up two days ago. It would start, run for about 3-4 seconds and quit.Sometimes run a little longer. I had the same code, so, replaced the crank sensor and cam sensor. This didnt do it. I started messing with grounds and connections and it started. But, was back to not starting yesterday for 3-4 attempts then started and ran. Restarted 6-7 times throughout the day and had no trouble. Has anyone experienced this? I sure would appreciate any input. Thank you

Well that code is for the cam sensor, not the coil, so it makes sense that the coil didn't fix it.

Yes, P0320 is a CAM sensor circuit issue, thats the "distributor" in 1995 and up 3.0ls
Usually means wiring or sensor failure, but can be computer circuit failure as well

Did you replace the CAM sensor only or the whole synchronizer unit?

2000 3.0l should have the 2 wire CAM sensor

This shouldn't cause a no start or a stall out, it can on 3.0ls but shouldn't

I would listen for Fuel Pump to run for 2 seconds when key is turned on
Cycle key on and off and listen for HUMMM of fuel pump in the gas tank, it is not quiet, but only runs for 2 seconds.
Fuel pump failure is more likely than spark failure when there is a no start

Also try 50/50 test
Spray gasoline or Quick Start(ether) into the engine
Try to start engine
If it starts and dies then fuel is the problem
If it doesn't start then spark is the problem
50/50

Thanks Ron I only replaced the sensor. I do hear the pump when I turn the key. It almost always starts but stalls.I found this morning that its more of a problemm when its real cold.I still have the p0320 code. But, if you keep trying it will start and remain running. Im kinda leaning towards the ECM but, want to be sure.

There is no way to test ECM(computer), you can pull it out and remove the cover, it is out of warranty :))
Look at circuit board for any discoloration.

Disconnect battery!!!
Remove ECM connector and inspect connector and ECM for water damage, pins 85 and 91 are the Cam sensor wires, you can test them with ohm meter to see if a wire might be broken.

Then pull ECM out to inspect inside it

Look here for pin numbering: http://www.fuelinjectedford.com/page3.html

Ford used 60-pin EEC IV computer until 1995, OBD1
1995 and up used 104-pin EEC V(OBD2), so scroll down to this one

thank you Ron

I kinda figured you knew exactly what to look for and I really apppreciate the info as well as the link to the diagram.
