i have a 96 2wd ranger and it seems like it wont let me into first or second unless i smash the clutch to the floor. how do i fix it? like its not fully engaging or something.
check your clutch fluid it may need changing or bleeding. look for leaking lines or kind of saturated as rubber hoses tend to get perforated over time and cause a spongy condition in the pedal or weak pedal. if that doesnt work have our master and slave cylinder checked for proper output.
its normal to have to push the clutch all the way in to put the truck in gear. are you saying the pedal travels most or all of the distance to the floor with no resistance?
