So I have a 2003 ford ranger with 4.0 that the cab and core support are totaled. The engine, drive train, frame etc are all in order. Rather then attempting body work trying to repair this I have a complete parts truck. However the engine in that truck is a 3.0. I would like to take that cab and slap it onto my 4.0 frame. Before going at this completely blind has anyone else done this? I would assume ecu, ignition, and possibly some fuse boxes will need to be swapped. Does any one have a guide or any pointers on doing this?

Thanks

I would count on swapping all the wiring also. When done it will be as original, except the VIN will say it has a 3.0 and you will have to go to the DMV and scrap the 4.0 truck, and transfer the registration and do the title thing for the 3.0 truck.

I’ve got titles for both trucks. Should I just take the dash out and throw it in the new one? Steering column n all?
