I totaled my 98 b4000 the day after I put a new trans and clutch in. They're both still in great shape. I'm looking at picking up a 2000 b4000 4x4. How easy would it be to convert it from an automatic to a manual trans? It looks like I could just unbolt the transfer case from the auto, and put it in place of the tailpiece on the manual. Aside frome the pedals, would it be that simple? Would I need a new ECU?

It is not that simple. The output shaft on the transmission is different in length and diameter between 2wd and 4x4, plus you would still need and extension housing to have something to bolt the t-case to. You can't just remove the tail housing and put a t-case on.

Any ideas where I could start? Would I have to do a different transfer case entirely for the manual?
