So, I've figured out that doing a 2wd to 4wd swap on a Ex is the same as a bronco, and that I'd have to swap out one of the beam brackets for the 4x4 one... Since I have a 4x4 BII with a D28, and I might buy a 2wd Ex would I be able to put the D28 in the Ex, that way when I find a D35 I can put that in by only swapping the beams? I'm confused...

The BII frontend should bolt in, sure. However you'll also still need a 4WD transmission as the BII one isn't suitable for a 4.0L (T-case is fine though).

its gonna be a lil narrower too and steering linkage is a lil different. but fittable till you get ya a 35 to install

Oh, yeah I know the tranny wouldn't be too nice in there, I just thought it would be easier to swap that over and just not use 4wd... Then swap in a D35... that way I don't have to get the beam brackets... just the beams... I plan on just swapping out the M50 tailshaft for a 4x4 one, and using a manual 1350, and finding the front yoke off a 1354 and putting it one a 1350 (I read somewhere you could do that)...

Yeah, it would just be temporary so I could easily swap a 35 in it later...
