Hello all, I have a 1998 Ranger 2wd, std cab, stepside bed. This thing is hurting and I want to lift it. I have to replace the rear leafs because both sides are broken, so I guess I'm going to go with a 3 or 4 leaf replacement along with a lift block.

My question is primarily for the front. I have the coil spring front end and I was looking at a 2" lift spring, or maybe the 3" spindle. I'm leaning towards the coils because this truck has 170k on it and the suspension is beat. Can I go with a 2" lift coil without any front end troubles? like alignment issues or the upper or lower control arms hitting anything because of the longer coils?

Thanks!

You will need alignment bushings to be able to realign once they are installed, the only problem you might have is at full extend your spindle might come into contact with your coil bucket, you won't need extended brake lines either

As it sits right now, I can jack up the front end, let the suspension droop and the wheels hang. Nothing hits, it looks like the shocks are the only thing preventing the suspension from dropping down anymore.

I just don't want to open a can of worms by trying to lift this truck up a couple of inches.

I think I may go that route. I guess I was wondering if anyone else was running any of the the lift coils for the '98 & up 2wd Rangers. Seems like these are the odd duck models.:icon_twisted:

I was thinking about doing a 3" body lift too, I figured a total of 5" and I should be able to fit 33's

Also going to get a lockright for it.

i really been lookin into fabtech's coil and upper arm kit(2.5" lift) lil too much lift for what i want but i really like the beefy upper arms with pre installed 1" ball joints. sounds like a pretty strong set up for a budget suspension kit

I run a 2" coil and 3" spindles clearing my 33s on my 01, I would have went the fabtech route but they want 1100 just for the 2.5

What company's spindles are you using? I was looking at those too, but my springs are shot and the truck leans so I have to start there.

So let me get this right......2" coils and alignment bushings and new shocks and call it a day? No upper arms required?

Nope no upper a arms no joints no nothing just the longer shocks, and alignment bushings the coils and your good to go, and as for my spindles I have pro comp spindles but they are no longer sold

What are you running for wheels with your 33"s ? I want to run 33's too, I was looking at a 15x8 becaue I think a 15x10 would be just too wide.

you dont want to do a body lift it looks tacky if you want to go 2" thats fine but anything more just looks like shit i live where everyone lifts there trucks rarely a lowered truck i see it all when you do a body lift it just doesnt compare

Body lifts look fine, if it's done right. I see them all the time, not done right, not raising the bumpes and stuff like that.
