2wd fabtech 2.5in lift 4wd stock rear suspension

I went to put in the fabtech shocks from the 2WD 2.5 lift rear suspensoion , and they were shorter than the 4wd stock shocks from the rear. I thought they would be similar because of the 2.5 lift on the fabtech. I am sticking with the 2wd leafs with the fabtech add-a-leaf because they are brand new. Am I wrong about the size of the fab tech shocks?
