Hey guys i have an 86 bronco 2.
well the tranny has gone out in it and my buddy has a 2.9 ranger 2wd

I was wondering if his tranny would work in my bronco?

If not does anyboy know where i can get a rebuild kit for my tranny?

the output shaft would need to be changed for it to work with your t case. what year is the 2.9? the 88 and up are computer controlled for the 3/4 shift and converter lock up so you would need the valve body out of an older a4ld thats if your b2 has the a4ld wich it should i think.

The ranger is a 90 i believe..
i would like to swap out the 2.8 for a 4.0
but it seems to be a little to much for now

If i want power i would just get in my mustang ha

you would need the older 87 and older valve body as they are hydraulicly controlled
