can anyone tell me will a 2nd gen clip fit on a 1st gen? and i know a 2nd gen dash will fit but that about carpet and seats?

You need to change at least the core support if not a few more things. Everything should line up well as the cab didn't change until 93.

Core support needs changed along with hood and fenders... the bumper causes a problem because of the difference in frame design. IIRC the inner fenders stay the same.

Seats and carpet are the same.

Not sure why anyone would want a gen 2 front clip on a gen 1 though... I have a couple BIIs with the gen 2 front and have a bit of a hatred for it, I think the gen 1s look much better.

yes i don't have a problem with the first gen either. its just i had an 89 that was my baby and i got hit head on doing 50 and needless to say its behined the barn resting in peace. i'm trying to find another 2nd gen but can't come up with what i'm looking for ( reg. cab 4x4 all manual long bed) but i found a 1st gen thats what i need but its body is rotted to hell. i have a good bed and i can get all repoped body parts from my supplier for less than $350 and i was thinking of putting a 2nd gen clip on it since i have to replace the whole clip anyway. ssssssssooooooooo thats why.

Ahhh... gotcha. If the body is rotted, chances are pretty good the core support would need replaced anyway then, the only real sticking point would be the front bumper, not sure how hard it would be to stick a second gen bumper on a first gen frame.
