Hey, I wanted to get some good tires for winter and the TrXus STS by interco looks perfect for what I want. Anyone know if they'll fit underneath my stock 2wd 2001 ranger? Stock wheels are on there but considering replacements if necesarry.

Also, I was thinking about welding up the diff, but what would be the best and least expensive method improving the diff, making sure I don't get stuck at another flat intersection?

it sounds like you need a limited slip. if your only worried about getting stuck on the flats, then a welded diff would hurt more than help you as far as driveability is concerned.

Anyone think the tires will fit with 15 x 8 rims with either 4.5" or 3.75" of backspacing?

Yes they will fit 8" rims fine.
