289 swap '83 ranger

Guys, Hatman is swapping a 289 into his 4x4 '83 ranger. He has the 2.8l with the c5, can the c5 be used with the 289? Is it just a bell housing swap?

yes, i also believe that a c4 bellhousing will fit onto a c5 trans

Lock up converter has to go along with the valve body on the C-5 the best I can recall.
Your better off swapping the output shaft from the 5 into a 4 thats what I have done.

Have to make sure the 289 is a 6 bolt bell and not the earlier 5 bolt.
