289 4x4 tranny

I have a 88 BII that someday I'd like to swap the 2.9 out for something. I have a free 289 block out of a 60 something mustang if I want it and I was wondering what tranny would I need to look for for this?

I passing on the 4.0 just because I quite noob at all this and I don't even wana mess with wireing stuff. Need something simple and carb.

You will need a C4, but make sure you get the correct bolt pattern, if I remember right the 289 came in both a 5 bolt and a 6 bolt bellhousing pattern, with the cars having the 5 bolt...
