28 to 35

I am putting a 35 from a explorer in my 85 ranger and need to know if I need the brackets from the explorer or will the dana 28 brackets work?

Will 3.73s work with a 2.3 5 speed with 33s

save both explorer driveshafts and have them cut down and modified to fit the d35 and 8.8!

I have a 2.3 with 3.73 and 31's , I can't even think about using 5th gear. Recommend 4.56. others may know better if a different ratio would be best.

I run 3.73s with 33s, but I have a 4.0. It gets around fine, but interstate travel sucks on hills. You can, but you'll most likely hate it. 4.56 would be the appropriate gear, or possibly 4.88 if its a trail truck.

You'll want 4.88s for 33s on a 2.3 even with highway use (5.13 if trail-only).
