Some people swear that a 20" barrel 12 ga is better. Well, get up in the middle of the night, it's dark and you have to walk down a hallway with doors on either side. What's easier to swing, a pistol or long gun?
You're not going to find much that's more deadly at close range than a coach gun, but it's overkill unless you are expecting trouble.
Good point. My guns are only for my love of firearms, I take them to the range or out in the woods out back, invite some friends, have a blast. Literally. I keep 'em locked up otherwise. That's why my most often used firearms are my antiques and GSG .22lr MP5-PK. I've shot the Beretta once this year, ammo for it is expensive, .22lr is cheap.
Odds of hitting someone in the head are very low. The judge is largely a gimmick, it's huge and .410 shells don't pack much punch. I'll take a traditional handgun any day
